Stereo Preouts Question
I was interested in putting in subwoofers in my 2003 Lancer and I am on a limited budget for the time being so I am trying to do this the least expensive way. Now does the main stereo up front have the preouts in it to hook up subs or would I have to buy a new cd player to get subs in my car?
There is no RCA output on the stock player, but there is still a way for you to hook up a sub.
1. Splice the wires from one of the rear speaker to a RCA cable
2. Plug that RCA cable to your amp
3. Plug your amp to your sub
Ain't the best way to do it. But sure the cheapest. If you're on a tight budget, get a Jensen amp and a Jensen sub. The XS1212 sub is like 30-60$ and hits pretty hard. I'm on a real tight budget, so I got all my audio stuff at Walmart (except HU). Not the best place to by stuff, but I am fully satisfied for the price I paid.
Make sure to build your own box. It will sound better and cost you cheaper.
