its possible buy not a good idea... you would have to remember to leave the car in neutral every time you start it or you'll have a lurching car... but you can bypass the clutch needing to be depressed

Yes. It's quite possible and easy. Personally I always park in neutral with the e-brake up so it's not an issue...for others it may be. People have them. It can be done. Just don't leave your car in gear.

And please don't post all in caps?

Yeah he's right! I had a friend that did that, all he did was by-pass the senser that is there on the clutch. But i think that is kind of Illegal. I herd that this guy did that and ran a little kid over cause he forgot it was in gear. Crazy huh, but it can be done.

BEWARE

Certain models, (I don't know names so don't ask) have been known to blow starters and even start cars on fire. My wife's mother's company got them as a Christmas bonus, (she is a lawyer so they weren't cheap, they mostly drive MB's) and 5 people had problems.

Anyone know where to get a clutch bypass, or can the bypass be done simply by splicing the starter wires into a specific location?

just look on the clutch under the dash, there is a plug, unplug it and presto you dont have to push you clutch in to start the car.
and what you do with this information is YOUR responsibility.

I installed one on my car. The most important part is to install a safety switch (custom out of a coat hanger and spring) and it works fine. I have done these installations when I worked at a custom alarm and radio place a long time ago. Mind you, it was strictly favor because the shop would be liable if something failed. ONLY when you have the E-brake up and the car in neutural it will start. If either in gear or the E-brake down the car will not start...

If people have enough interest I can post exact wiring and diagrams. But for you, maybe.

Kidding.

Anyone who wants info can ask. But would like to document everything so that more people can have the knowledge.

My remote start....

The plug that link described is 100% correct also. That is what I did. Less work = more play.

Manual trans. remote start

Can anyone please tell me how to set up a safety switch on a manual transmission in order to allow the car to only remote start when in nuetral and e-brake on. If anyone has any info please email me at jhoward924@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance. This will save me a lot of time and trouble.
