i'd rather use a dei alarm (like viper) than compustar because i'm not fond of the compustar remotes. my .0251

I've sold both brands in my store before.

Here are the main selling features of each:

Viper/DEI:

+Owned by the DEI family of products
+Small brain, decent features, easier to install
- More expensive
- Range issues after roughly 1 year of use
- Warranty is shotty
- Harder to use than compustar (sometimes)

Compustar

+Excellent name
+Excellent price
+Excellent range
+Excellent features
+Best 2-way model out there, hands down
+Very easy to use
- Large brain, a little tougher to install
- 1-way models remotes could use some design work, not bad though

That's all I can think of off the top of my head..

My recommendation: Get the Compustar, but MAKE SURE it's installed by somebody who has their MECP Certification and make sure you get the full lifetime warranty. I'd go to the specialty store before the big box store also.

Theres my 2 cents...and by the way, we dropped Viper for the Compustar this year and I havent regretted it once... I do more warranty work on the vipers than the compustars...a lot more.

oh **** ya...

it's worth it...you'll actually get that 3000ft every day (we actually tested it....)

it's about 4 city blocks of range...it's ****ing sweet!!!

Are you getting the 2WFM-AS or the 2WSS-AS?

The SS has a bigger bulkier remote, but has 5000ft of range and a vibrate function...Honestly, i dont sell many of them. I'd stick with the FM 2-way from compustar.

GJ man, you'll love it
