to cut or not to cut

for the custom installation of my ground block and Digital fuse block in the rear seat behind the armrest i want my armrest to fold up completely ..however the only way for me to do this is to cut two rectangles out of the metal backing of the seat and recess the blocks behind those ... soo my question is should i cut or try to find another way to mount the blocks for display

If I were you, I would consider a different setup. When you sell the car, aftermarket parts can be taken out and stock one, put back in. If you cut stuff out, you can't put it back.
