ya it needs to be cooled down ...i shouldnt be fawed but you wont know until it cools up and you try to run it again...im not sure how hot it is there in the 808 but in cali it gets pretty hot insdie a trunk and if you amp is not properly ventilated then it'll hot...

Red can also mean a bad ground. So if it still doesn't work once the amp is cooled down, lookup your ground connection.

uhmm.. red means protect and error. Your amp is by default programmed to shut off and go into protect mode when :

1 : amp gets to hot to prevent overheating

2: if you have short somewhere.

Most likely number 2 is ur cause if you've let it cool down a couple hours and its till bad.

Wire shorts are usually bad grounding... either your ground wire is loose and its making on and off contact with your ground area or you have a short in your speaker wire. From experience, u should check the area where ur speaker cables are connected to your terminal. Especially if you're not using crimps on the ends to connect to your terminals, your speaker wire ends might be frayed and if they come into contact with any other metal surface or conductive surface or if its frayed and its slightly crossing with a another speaker wire, u could have a short which would make your amp go into protect.

Turns out when i checked the ground wire it had sheared the bolt that was holding it to the car. I just screwed it down and er' thang was cool, I was bassin in no time!! CHECK THAT GROUND!!

check ground and make sure your amp can handle the load you're putting on it (4ohm mono, 2 ohm, 1 ohm, etc)
