Tweeter mount same as EVO?

Does the US Lancer have the same location to mount tweeters as the EVO does?

Well, I got off my lazy ***, searched the forum, and took off my A-pillar. There is no cutout perforation on the 02-03 US Lancer (don't know about 04+) A-pillar. It doesn't appear to have the mounting location on the frame of the car either. Looks like I'm just going to mount them to the side mirror plastic triangle.

I thought about putting it there, but then I'd have to cut a big hole in my door panel. Guess since I'm going turbo, I shouldn't worry about selling the car or anything any time soon, so why not.

Screw it, I'll put it there as well, since I do have those two mounts.

The tweeters go in that space right beside the side mirrors right?

The factory a-pillars are where they are at on the evo, and to get aftermarket a-pillars that have the pre-cut out hole for tweeters aren't the same on the lancer, as far as the spot by the side mirrors, putting the tweeter there looks like crap imo, but installing car audio for many years now, people can get creative, and you probably could modify the a-pillars to get em to work, I chose to mount mine where they are at for my own likes, but to each his own. I'm still pretty sure the evo's a-pillars are different though, but hey, I could be wrong, but I don't own an evo, so if someone's done it, great! But you've got to look at the cost of buying new a-pillars, instead of just mounting the tweeter on the door panel. Again, just my two cents!

That's the '04 Lancer, and the LS, which I think had an optional 6-speaker package. The OZ did not have that option in 2003.

If your going to do custom installs wouldn't it be just as easier to do a custom install in the a-piller than the door... not to mention apillers are a lot easier to replace if you ever want the system out or if you mess up the install.. besides that if you put it in the apiller like the Evo it looks more like stock which is way less entising to would be thieves just my 2 cents
