Will this work?

Ok guys, I don't know if this is too general or not, but I want to make sure this works.

I'm trying to buy an in-dash DVD player (with brain). I already have an aftermarket head unit (a Sony CDX-CA810X) and Sony CD Changer in the upper DIN so I was gonna get the converter and throw the DVD player in the lower DIN.

My question is, since my Sony head unit only has one input, and it's being used by the changer, will I have to buy an adapter or something so the DVD player can plug into it to produce sound? I'm just not sure how the DVD player plugs into everything so it will work... Thanks guys!

Optimally the cd player and changer should be able to plug into the brain of the in-dash. Not sure of your particular setup though. And if the in-dash also has cd/dvd/etc. playing features, why would you need the other h/u? I can see keeping the changer, but not the old h/u.

I don't think the changer I have will work with a non-Sony headunit. Well I know the in-dash would have the inputs, so wiring it backwards (meaning the CD player into the DVD player) sounds a lot better than the other way around.

A Sony XAC-30 will allow 3 changers to be connected. If you buy Sony's Din DVD player DVX11A, it will plug right in.

So I talked to one of the Crutchfield Advisors, and he told me you can't have two 'receivers' installed in the same car due to electrical issues. So I'm kind of at a crossroads (if he's right). My choices are:

1. Stick with the headunit/CD changer setup I have now.

2. Get the DVD player and buy another CD changer

3. Get a remote mount DVD player, screen, and tear my dash apart (not what I want to do)

Any help guys?
