If you go in "Device Manager" the port might be disabled.

While updating my map yesterday night... I got thinking about your connectivity problem. The problem might be in the sequence you open up your stuff and all...

Try this.

Computer off, keys out
Connect, the computer to the piggy
Turn on the car
Turn on the computer

Some laptop will disable the com port if there is no activity upon bootup. That might be what's happening in your case.

And btw... as DJ did, I added fuel in the lower portion of the map(lower rpm, higher vaccum) and the car just f***ckin flies. I think I may be running a little rich on take off since the car bogs a little, but as soon as it picks up, damn.... does it go(for a Lancer)

The R4 software can not be downloaded from anywhere. I looked for weeks and ended buying it from some vendor on another board(at the time RRM wouldn't release it). I haven't tried his map since his is made for V2 piggyback, but the map does look pretty good.

yeah you're not supposed to be able to just DL it cause it costs money and it would be illegal for someone to DL for free I think.

Custom maps are hard to come across around here. People prefer to stay safe than experiment, unlike some other communities. Which can be good in a way, but kinda blows in another.

Well if there's a link to download the software and you can't give it out, why mention it. lol

by the way, we who have the software can just upload it to any hosting site and do the same. This stuff should be considered FREEWARE... since you can't do anything w/o the other.

Without going back in the war zone, that was debated by my-self and some other members for days and days. The topic was so hot, many people had to put on their flame suit to survive that discussion

Tried your map dude, I didn't feel too much of a difference... Has anyone played with the output settings? That is where I noticed the most difference.
