E-manage Ultimate Question
E-manage Ultimate Question
I tried searching and found nothing on this problem.
I got a E-Manage ultimate and a wire harness from boomslang.us. set all my jumpers the way I thought and plugged it all in and my car wont start. I called boomslang who was trying very hard to help. We went threw the jumpers together and found no error there. I unplug the harness and went back to stock and the car runs fine. I pulled a code from the engine, cant remember exactly but something to do with ignition not connected on cylinder 1-4 pulled a code for each. So is anyone here running the E-manage Ultimate? Does anyone have a clue as to why my car wont start with it plugged in? Thanks for the help

I had a similar problem when i had installed mine. I had an ecu harness also. I sat back and thought about it for 2 or 3 days and then went back to it realizing i had the injectors wired up backwards. Inputs /outputs i wasn't getting any fuel. It just kept cranking. after fixing, fired right up. The biggest problem I'm having is finding someone to tune it. Everybody i talk to including (Turbo Trix). Says it sux , and i'm like have you done it yet? and their like... NO... but you should just let us flash it. everyone i talk to says the same thing, cause no one knows anything about it yet..... I even called shawn ivey for help, and no call back.
I just got it back today and they said a chip had actualy fallen off!!! I will check it out tomorrow. I am going to use the auto tune with my WB trying to decide on what AFR I should use. Any thoughts would be a great help.
You may have gotten one of the early versions then. If you look on mohdparts.com there is a thorough explaination of the 4 versions of ultimate. The early ones had internal problems like that. Mohd gives great explaination to show you which version you ended up with. You can also purchase other **** your going to need. And he ships them fast as hell. But he has no experiance with the evo though. You should be running 11. to 13. in upper rpm under boost - speed. 14.5 to 15.5 just cruising. But don't quote me i'm just learning. I've been doing 1 month of research and i'm about 1/4 of the way there. I may not even use EMU. We will see after my full assessment. I'm leaning towards getting the flash and then using emu to fine tune. MalibuJack seems to agree...... and sees potential for EMU. but we will see.
I got it back and up and running... well the car starts! im running a Lancer. Im happy now. I need to get the feed for the WB so i can use the auto tune. Thanks for the write up keep me posted.
I would go richer for cruising. 13's to mid-low 14's if your car will run steady that way.
You won't know what you need to turn off a CEL unless you know what's causing the code to be thrown. ...or unless you unplug the bulb/fuse...which I wouldn't recommend.
BTW, I've had my EMU and harness almost 2 weeks now, and haven't had a single second to look at my car.
