Car Stalling

I have had my piggyback in for almost 3 months now. The problem I'm having now is when i put the car into park the idle either does three things 1. Stay normal 2. Jump around like 300 - 400 rmp or 3. Stall Out. This started happing couple of days ago. Up to the past couple days the car was running fine. Also i don't have any idle problems when in drive or any other gear. I know the whether is getting colder i didn't know if that had anything to do with it. I checked all the wires they seem to be all fine. Plus i bought the piggyback from a member and i was told is was custom tuned so i have no idea what map is on there.

Mine is jumping around too but still has not died yet although it keeps wanting to. The CEL is on too saying too lean. I know because I just had the thing custom tuned on a wideband the car is getting enough fuel and is not too lean and I have the latest updates on the PB to eliminate the bad idle and CEL. I am trying to get this resolved too...

A Are the wires soldered? I have had my piggy V1 for almost two years and have had this problem on ocasion. Its been: bad wire connections, bad plugs, dirty MAS, and clogged air filter. At least those are the reasons I remember. Oh and recently I had to adjust the idle screw on the TB. Just give it the 24 point inspection and see if you find anything. It's probably something little since it just started happening. Also, have you changed anthing lately? Could be bad gas? I see you have the crank pulley. Did a professional put it on or you? Not that you are'nt a professional. Mine idled like crap once because my alternator belt was too loose, then I made it too tight amd wore them out. I had a mechanic do it this time.

well i have been experiencing similar circumstances....my idle will dip down, and try to die, and when i give it gas to go, it sputters like a punk and refuses to go, until finally a burst of power will surge through and it sounds like im revving at the other cars....

and also my cel is on too.i need to get it scanned and see what it is.

I haven't done anything to the car since the piggyback. I order a new air filter couple of days ago notice that mine was getting alittle dirty. My wires are notsoldered but seems like the have good connections. I'll keep you posted if i had anything else that could be wrong. If it continues i will take the piggyback out see how it drives. remember I'm only having a problem when i go out for a drive and then put the car is park. When i start the car is runs perfect.

Do i need to unhook all the wires from the piggyback to the ecu for the piggyback to not be functional? I want to test and make sure it's the piggyback is the problem.

i'd assume you'd only need to disconnect the power wire... no power... no go.

your ECU will probably not be too happy with you pulling the switcharoo back and forth on it with the piggyback, too.

OK guys. I pulled the Piggyback out. Hand my fingers crossed and she ran fine with the piggyback out. So i took the car for a drive and when i went to put the car into park once again and the idle moved Little but didn't stall and only just jumped like 200 - 300 rmps. I'm hoping nothing is wrong with my car and will keep you posted on if it stalls again once i put the car in park.

that's very strange. especially since it's only now started causing problems... what do you put in it for gas? i have run premium since i got my piggyback and i have had no issues with the car.

sdhes hit on a lot of things to check out, i'm pretty much reposting questions they asked.

Update: Ok the piggyback has been out since yesterday afternoon. I have had no problems with the park idle at all. Everything seems to be back to normal. When un installing the piggyback i cam across a wire that might of been the problem with a bad connection. Well seeing how it's out I'm going to sell the piggyback so check out my part out if anyone is interested.

Thats why I asked. It could still be something else, but those plastic connectors, or butt-connectors just are'nt the best way to go in the long run. You got to solder those wires for long term use. I had issues with the way my car was running once and after I soldered the wires to my piggy it ran better.

Possibilities:
MAF honeycomb or physicall itself is damaged

THe PB is tuned too rich at idle, and the ecu tries to compensate by trying to bring more air into the car. Thereby, erratic idle.

Check your O2 values at idle: .96 to .98 = rich w/ erratic idle. +1.00 = STALL. Get something w/ numeric values, not blinking light or wavering wand.
