I asked them if they were able to make a CAI for my Lancer. The guy there did tell me that they do specialize in Evolutions, but they don't mind doing custom jobs. Problem is, because it is a custom job I'd have to put a large deposit first, which would be deducted from the final cost of the intake. I live in Chicago, so I could actually drive there and drop my car off.

The guy working there asked me if there were any intakes already out on the market and I told him Injen's was and how much. He was cool enough to tell me Injen is a reputable company and that it would be a wiser financial decision to grab theirs rather than a custom job from them.

Nonetheless, AMS makes great stuff.

the new lancer is CAN not OBDII, when a stock car is flashed...without ECUTEK, it would be using ECUFlash, since the latest version of ECUFlash still does not support the new Evo X it also does not support the lancer, there is a very big update on the way for ECUFlash which will allow tuning of Evo X's since ECUFlash is also used on the older series lancers im sure that there may be a way to tune the newer lancers, either way it will require a new Tactrix 2.0 cable which is CAN ready and i dont believe it is out yet (i could be wrong) but i would expect once it is out then ECUFlash is out you may be able to have your cars tuned...tune it yourself...works like a charm lol

HOLY COW!! Will you tune my car when it's available cuz you sound like you know more about it then anyone else i have ever talked to!!!!

one side question though, would it be safe to assume that WORKS "brain flash" is not a really a tune since as you said, it doesn't sound like the technology/cables are available yet?

i have no iddea about it, but its completely [possible they have it figured out, TTP engineering and others are tuning evo X's already, its just that the public and free software that a majority of tuners use (ECUFlash) isnt availible yet, but is soon to be released...i would wait personally, cause that really is the way to do it, but if you can look into other methods...i suggest you wait, and if the mod bug is too much get the cosmetics and suspension squared away first that way u can say you didnt waste time lmao...i encourage people to learn to tune themselves, be safe and dont take chances and you can be very safe and reassured

Time to Tune again!

I like the way your thinking.

I have already acquired the WORKS ECU Flash. What a difference that made. HUGE.

I have a few more mods to go and then its time for a retune which I would like to attempt myself once ECUTek is available for our lancers.

Any good resource to learn from other than patience and experience?
