NEW Injen SP1836 for the '09 2.4L 4B12

I'm waiting 'til the 10th of June to get mine when they come out. They claim this CAI adds 11HP &10 ft./lbs of torque to the '09 4B12 engine. Anyone seen them on the main page of Injen yet? I spotted it. On a similar day the SP1837 will be released for the '09 ralliart that is claimed to add 20 HP and 17ft./lbs of torque. I'm excited.

you can get the intake for 318 from advancespeedshop (dot) com or from kumuramotoring on ebay for $310 shipped, use cash back from bing to save another $24.00

for the 09 4b12 engine only. wont fit your puny 08 models i'm surprised how hard powder coating is. it's like a rock. oh and on the gts models for this year and intake, you have to relocate the oil cooler, which it comes with brackets for. it just goes about 2-3 inches inward from where it originally sits and it also angles slightly. this is to make room for the intake filter.

That powder coating job you mentioned earlier sounded kind of feminine at first; but the results are actually pretty impressive! Nice work, and thanks for the pic! How were the gains in power?

I think if you could match the color to the powder coating to the top plastic engine cover that says "MIVEC" might look sharp as well. I believe AEM also sells that color for battery tie down brackets! Also you could do the front strut bar. Just a idea though!

Your GTS is CVT or manual? I always thought the oil cooler was only for CVT equipped models...

it's a gts cvt. the oil cooler should be on both cvt and manual however. there is a pretty easily noticable boost in power actually. I was thinking pssh 11hp/10ft lbs. gain was a hoaks, but it is quite noticable. as for powder coating the plastic engine cover that is definately not going to work. you have to bake powder coated things at very high temperatures and that would melt it. as for painting it that may work, but i'm not going to do it. powder coating is only made for metal by the way. the biggest change i wasn't expecting was the difference in sound. it is a very nice sound that is grungly and low, but when you're at 3.5k & 6k rpm it screams like a beast. it must be the two harmonic frequencies of what they tuned it to. pretty wicked if you ask me. i recommend getting the pre-filter because of the placement of the air filter down where the FL wheel and lower grill are. you don't want that to get wet or you can get moisture into your engine. i also recommend that if you have no mechanical skills then have someone there who does to support what you are doing. it was simple as hell for me, but i'm a master installer so i've seen much much harder things. oh and the top m6 vibramount didn't come threaded on one side in my kit, so i had to use my own dye to get some threads on it. it works but i called injen and they're sending me a new one. as for now i'm still very happy.

as for powder coating at front strut tower bar that will also be done, but i have to figure out which aftermarket bar i'm going to get firstly...

what kind of paint did you use for the intake tube? Does it melt?
