air colder infront or behind radiator?

Ive had the RRM SRI on my 09 GTS since september and have been thinking of switching to the Injen CAI. Im deploying soon so i dont want to do a whole lot of work on my car so i figured remove the front plastic cover, switch the filter with a specter low profile filter, add a coupler and some flex tube and take the tube entrance to the front of the radiator but Im wondering if the the air is colder infront or behind the radiator. Ill post a pic here later to show what i mean a little better.

Any addvice on how to fabricate my own CAI would be awsome.

well you could maybe use PVC pipe, but you would have to custom make a MAF sensor holder somehow, or go to Auto Zone and use one of those universal MAF sensor adapter pipes. also, the air should be colder in front of the radiator. the radiator doesnt cool air around it, it cools the liquid inside it. by having a pipe in front of the radiator in the grill, you are creating a ram air intake, which is pretty much the best of both worlds of SRI and CAI.

good luck

Thanks thats what i was thinkin just makin sure. I may just go ahead and start fabricating my own but with the metal pieces from autozone. will my maf sensor fit in the universal maf adaptor? wasnt sure if they were all the same size or not. was also thinkin of putting the filter infront of the radiator instead of the pipe entrance

not sure about the MAF adapter, i havent tried it, but there are multiple combinations if holes so it could very well fit. if it doesnt fit, just return it, no big, and make your own.
