It's a waste of money unless you're racing and legitimately need to worry about oil temps. Keep in mind, many of those universal kits don't have a thermostat meaning the oil won't come up to temp as fast in cold weather, a bad thing for your motor.

Unfortunately an oil cooler won't boost power or make the car quicker in any way. Most people install a cooler if they are tracking their car. I use a Mishimoto oil cooler on my Evo, it works quite well and keeps oil temperatures in check during laps at VIR even when ambient temperatures were around 90F.

If you need the extra cooling, I would go for it.

If anyone is planning on tracking their car i would recommend one for sure...i just bought a mishimoto 19 row oil cooler today because on the track your oil temps will raise over 290 degree...at least i did but im turboed. If you're using your car for the streets or on a drag strip there is absolutely no need for an oil cooler since the oil temps raises to 290+ degrees after maybe 10-15 mins of beating non stop!

Hmm I'm using a custom setup that sits ontop of the intercooler not in front of a wheel.
