No. The 4G94 is already a stroker motor. It is a stroked out and bored out variant in the 4G9x family of Mitsubishi engine. The cylinder walls are very, very thin with the 81.5mm bore in each cylinder and the stroke is long at 95.8mm. There is no room for (safe) improvement.

If you haven't physically seen what the 4G94 block looks like, then it's hard to comprehend what I'm saying. The cylinder walls are thin as is. Very, very, very thin. Max overbore specs are minimal, as per the FSM. And even then that would be a piston replacement on a stock engine pushing stock horsepower. As Lancer owners begin to push their engines into the upper 300whp and into the 400whp numbers I'm mildly curious to see if anyone cracks a cylinder wall.

hmmm, i see what you're saying..sounds like was really trying cut back on costs rather than give us a new engine like they did the ralliarts at that time.

Well the Lancer is really just a renamed, redesigned 6th generation Mirage. So it's understandable that Mitsubishi did what they did with the engine. The 4G69 is merely a redesigned 4G64 engine. It's got a shorter deck height and uses Evo spec'd rods with a slightly shorter piston to accommodate the 100mm crank. The 4G6x engines share similarities just like our 4G9x engines do.
