Thought this was susposed to be a tuning forum. 80 plus views and no responses. Anyway I figured it out and heres the outcome. Didnt want to bash but tactrix is a joke. I was sent a defective unit and they are trying to say they will not refund my money or send me a replacement. I have tried everything possible to get the openport 2.0 to work and its a no go. Anyone buying anything from tactrix beware. Hopefully they dont jew you like they are doing me.

Hrmmm - I've never heard of anyone 'getting screwed by tactrix'.

It's always worked well for me!

What exactly is the problem you are having? Do you have the latest version of ECUFlash installed? What OS are you running?

Provide some more details on the error you're getting.

The lower right hand corner of the EcuFlash does it say "OpenPort 2.0 Connected on COM3" or similar?

It's what reads the ECU ROM file from the car's ECU.

Faulty 2.0

Ok, i have windows 7, i have the latest version of ecu flash an have evoscan. I have a 2009 lancer de. I plug the openport 2.0 ino the obd 2 port, i then plugged the mini usb into it. laptop is on and i plugged the other usb into my computer. booted up ecu flash. Computer does not detect the cable at all. There is susposed to be lights on the openport that light up, none at all. Thats all i can tell you. e tried it on another lancer with a different computer and got the same results.

Lol u mean it wont read? The lancer is just like a subaru. U need to plug in the cable, and then turn the key. As soon as u turn the key (u have about 1 second), u need to press the button on the program to read. Keep trying until u get it.

openport

make sure the drivers for the openport downloaded properly. if you have the program running and the key in the on position and still nothin is reading then the driver for the openport are not downloaded. delete ecu flash and reinstall.

Make sure the drivers for the Tactrix cable are installed properly on your computer. There should be a download for ECUflash that contains the drivers for the Tactrix Openport Cable 2.0. Download that and install it and then see if it recognizes the Tactrix cable.

been a while

it took a while for me to reply back but I ended up having tactrix send me a new one. The guy told me directly that it was a faulty unit and was inoperable. He did not say why or what was wrong with it but it was faulty and i now have a new properly working one.
