4-2-1 header with stock exhaust

I was thinking about getting a header for my 09 gts (2.4l) I don't want the exhaust to get to loud, so I was thinking I could leave the rest of the exhaust stock. Then later down the road I want to get a WORKS tune to maximize the gains. I was thinking the 4-2-1 header would be best, so I could keep some power in the low rpm's.

Is that a good idea? Or is it pointless to get a header while leaving the rest stock? Anyone recommend a good brand? Thanks for any input!

Super Circuit 4-2-1 headers by RPW is your choice.

2.5" header-back exhaust with free flowing mufflers will be a ideal.

4-2-1 is a great choice, however-- 2-2 1/4 is as big as I would go for an exhaust to maintain the fast exhaust flow out of the motor and help with lowend torque. my .02.

Same thoughts here. The header will definitely give you more gains than say a catback exhaust would in a n/a engine.

I have a works tune, it it does make the driving much smoother and pulls all your mods together. As long as you keep stock exhaust you are preserving a lot of the low end power.

Thanks guys!

I almost just bought the super circuit header, But I'm worried about shipping charges to Canada. When going through the checkout it didnt list any shipping charges, which is telling me they don't know how much its going to cost yet.

Anyone know how much the shipping might be from Australia to Canada?

What was the final verdict here, did you make any changes to the header or did you leave it stock? I am currently researching headers and I was wondering what you did and if you felt an gains?

We have shipped a huge amount of headers and lightweight Alutec pulleys to Canada. Seems to be a very popular area for modifying lancers.

Freight for the headers is around $150.00 AUD$ from Australia to Canada. Virtually free to ship the lightweight pulley at the same time.

We tried but had no demand for them. Everyone was wanting to fit EVO X cams instead beause they were cheap. I can do a custom set but its not something we advertise at this time
