Power Command Chip on ES

hey guys hows it goin, im looking to put a PCC chip in my lancer and i was hoping someone could help me with purchasing the right one. I havent done much research on them so I was hoping somebody on here could help me out a little bit. I currently have an AEM cold air intake and strut bars, nothing else. Was also wondering if it would be a good idea to put a PCC chip in before replacing the exhaust. I just currently cannot get pulled over for an illegal exhaust thats why I have yet to put one in. Anyways hope I could get some useful info and would appreciate any info you all have. Thanks a bunch an have a good one.

reflash and tune the stock ECU, "chipping" is a gimmick...actually modifying fuel and timing tables in the ECU is where you'll get power...

Awesome im gonna dig deep into that you prob just saved me $350. I've owned the car for a few years but money just started rolling in so thats why I havent researched or done much until now, back then I couldnt afford the mods so i didnt bother with anything... anyways,
I'll research the ECU & proper modifying for my car & get to work. Appreciate this info a lot. Happy Easter & have a good one.

I looked into flashing the ECU on my ES & I dont think I could do it with my resources. I could get a tactrix cable, i already have ECUflash installed.. But nobody has ever published any performance maps for an ES, I could upload my cars ECU & re-map the entire thing myself but I dont have free access to a dyno to test changes. Plus this would be my first time doing this & the last thing I wanna do is mess up the engine. The only other option is paying a professional to map it but I dont think the ES is worth the $. It can only ever be so fast..

I might just wait until I have my Evo to flash any ECU's. There are much more maps written for Evo's, not many people prob care about flashing the ECU on an ES.. they're just to slow

well if you're willing to pay over $300 for a chip that won't make any difference, what's a few hundred for a dyno session with a professional tuner? Nobody with an ES or OZ has posted any naturally aspirated tunes?

That's true & a good point. After learning about ECU flashing the last thing I really wanna do is hook up some device that over rides my system & forces changes. The cars computer is already there & flashing it would give me way more than any chip ever could.
I found that someone came out with a few maps for the OZ model. Though I do not believe they are compatible with the ES model. They're all written with turbo's included & the ES isnt turbo'd. Not too sure how that would play in..

I'll check out shops around here & see whats good with a dyno session, trust me I would much rather go that route, I was just recently hit hard financially and it brought my hopes down with bringing my ES up. But who knows it could end up being 10x cheaper than expected, wont know until I call.

I'll post an update in a few weeks when I've figured it all out but I always appreciate any input. I've had the car for 3 years but this is the 1st year i've ever started messing with the engine, caught between going ***** to the wall or just upgrading in a year from now. Anyways, have a good Saturday

Well the OZ isn't supposed to be turbocharged either...it has the exact same motor, and my bet is the ECU's are the same as well...maybe not across all model years, but I would be shocked if there's not a single tune written for a stock compression naturally aspirated 4G94 engine...
