ecu swap

Is it possible to take the ecu from a newer model eclipse say 2000 up and swap it with the stock lancer ecu or is this just wishful thinking.

You'd be lucky if it even ran. The cars aren't even similar. The following is my impression of the Eclipse ECU in a Lancer:

"Where the hell is my other cam?"
