Need some help with an OZ!!

Hey guys whats up? Well first off, I dont want to do a search to find out about every single part, it would take too long.

Heres the deal, I know guy that has an OZ and he wants to mod it a bit, he said he wants it to be a little faster. I was looking through some threads and noticed some of the typical mods are, the obvious exhaust, intake, header, but I noticed intake manifold, throttle body and ecu. Sorry I dont know much about the regular Lancer, but what kind of hp gains could you expect from those mods and what are you looking at price wise?

I just need some basic info so the next time I see him I can let him know what to expect and how much some of the mods cost. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Most parts can be bought at www.roadracemotorsports.com

PB ECU = $449
Throttle Body = $289.00
Intake Manifold = $349.00

Those 3 mods, plus say intake, header and catback exhaust should gain 15-20 hp. All mods in that list are "supporting" mods, so with each one you will gain power. Definatly remember that this car only has .. 105whp to start, so thats not bad of a gain.

If you think about it ..

Intake SRI = $149.00
Catback Exhaust = $399.00
Header = $359.00

For all those parts, your about $1994.00 if the parts are brand new.
RRM's non-intercooled turbo is $2999.00 new.

The turbo will get him close to 200whp, whereas the bolt-ons will get him closer to 140whp.

<i'm shaking my head, asking myself why i didn't just save for a non-IC turbo in the first place>

there are much cheaper routes than rrm.

-buy used 4g93 or 4g94 intake manifold for 50 and port it out your self.

-i know you can source a larger throttle body from another mitsu. but dont know which woudl be best, but can generally get used stock ones fro 50-100 so let just say 100.

-you can get a different fuel controller than the rrm piggyback, such as the safc or emanage (which will do more) for maybe 300.

-you can get a custom catback made for 200 if oyu live in a city.

-you can get many headers for 250 used.

-would need an adjustable fpr 100

-source a gsx fuel pump for 50

-maf upgrade 100

-diy sri 50

this all equals to about 1200 in parts, but would get you considerable gains for NA. going this route is barely mroe tahn the 3 mods from rrm that were mentioned adn would be much more powerful, relatively.

and the stock dynos vary, fora 5speed varies from 100-105whp, and for an auto varies from 97-101whp i believe. for guestimates of what all this would get you is really hard to say, a decent jump at least and wold be faster than most other NA lancers.

I have the first turbo kit ever made by road race, and i bought it used off some guy. N since now i think about 30,000 miles on it without a problem, just simple procedure to make shure you don't run into bigger problems. Quite a few people have our turbo and more people are still ordering them.

Whats required to run a turbo. I assume a better fuel system, but what else is needed?

bigger injectors, tuned ecu, its a vigorous task, complete engine transformation, i'd suggest getting a mechanic you trust @ aftermarket equipment to tell you everything. It's not cheap, i can tell ya that much, but in the end, so so worth it

for the rrm stg1 kit, its a walbro 255 fp and a vortech 12:1 fmu.

there are other routes you can go tho such as piecing together your own kit that will be jsut as reliable and much much cheaper plus there are other companies that sell turbos for our cars liek rpw.
