Cat converter options?

OK, I'm trying to search (both EvoM and my memory).

For the Lancer, there's:

1) RRM test pipe (not sure on size)
2) Buschur high flow cat (2.5")

Does anyone make a 2.25" high flow catalytic converter? I seem to remember there being a third option, but I can't recall it...

While we are talking about Cat converters how long should a factory cat last?

I'm going to be getting one of these highflows also when the time comes.

If I recall, factory cats are required by law to have something like a 40k or 60k mile warranty.

Wadad - Buschur uses Catco high flow cats.

Rhyzin - thanks, I'll look into it.

you dont have to limit yourself to vendors that list cats for the lancer. you can just get a cat and have a muffler shop weld two flanges on it and you have a "lancer" cat.

I'm aware of that. But if a vendor sells a 2.25" cat that's already been welded to fit a Lancer, then life is easier for me.

My cat had last me 110K miles and it was still functional (at least to my knowledge, and no SESs), up until when I "lost" it. Random Technologies also makes high flow, legal, universal cats, but they are quite pricey.

Just take your stock cat and ram a pipe through it, then you have a nice test pipe that looks like a cat from the outside.

A) I want a 2.25" cat to match my future exhaust
B) I want a cat, not a test pipe

You can get a 2.25" high flow cat from a shop which I think is called mufflertech.com. For some reason their web site is not working, but you can email them at mufflerdeals@aol.com.
