Kamikaze Header

Could anyone tell me if the Kamikaze Header/Downpipe setup comes with the gaskets? With 45000 miles on my car do I need to change them? I e-mailed the company, but they haven't e-mailed me back.

I installed my Kamikaze like 2 weeks ago.(34,000 miles on car before install) I used the one that came with it. To me it's fine and I have not had any problems. You WILL need to buy a new exhaust manifold gasket from your local Mitsubishi dealer, it's like $20 bucks.

I even flipped my cat around and used the same gaskets there too. No leaks No problems and especially NO CEL!!

^you really think 2 weeks is enough time?....read tje kamikaze header thread, the gasktes that they send suck. but hey if you want to do a one time install then get new gaskets, and you dont have to go to a mitsu stealer to buy an exhaust gasket....

funny how you took my advice on flipping the cat, but didnt take my advice on getting new gaskets.

If I need to replace the gaskets I will. It's all good, won't be hard. But yeah the flipping of the cat was not a problem. The O2 sensor just missed so added like maybe an inch to it to make it reach. Worked great

You can use the exhaust gaskets from 2001 Mirages. The holes need a little filing (because they're farther apart than on the lancer) but at $5 each I'll put in 10 minutes work. So far, so good

I bought my Kamikaze header used, so the gasket was used as well. I slaped it on there, and haven't had a leak. It's been almost a year now.

Perhaps the people who have leaky gaskets didn't tighten the bolts correctly and created the wrong impression on the gasket. It's a fairly thick, copper crush gasket so I'd imagine uneven tightening could easily lead to leakage. Bolts on gaskets should always be tightened in sequence so as to crush the gasket evenly, rather than tightening one bolt/side then the other.

Weak joke. Well it's something I know I've done before, and that can easily be overlooked. Ya know? I doubt most people would even think about it till after their gaskets started leaking. Some gaskets also crush more than others, and the more a gasket crushes the more room it seems there is for error.
