Boe told me to drill and tap the water inlet elbow. It's located on the front-drivers side of the car, at the top where the block meets the head. It's a $15 part from the junk yard, so if you screw it up, it's not going to break your pockets.

Go to Home Depot and buy the 3/8 NPT drill and tap set. Take off the elbow, drill and tap it. Put the sensor in the hole to make sure it fits nicely. Clean off all shavings thoroughly. Take the sensor that came with the gauge, put thread sealent (liquid or tape) on it, and put it in the hole you just drilled. Do not over tighten because you could mess up the threads because brass is pretty soft. Put everything back together.

Get an 18 gauge wire, put a fork connector on one end, hook it up to the sensor. Run the wire to the drivers fender, under the fender, through the grommet, under the dash and hook up your water gauge.

You don't have to, but it's the best place to install the sensor. Don't be afraid to do it (if you are, I am assuming you are since you asked, the only other reason would be you don't have a drill). The other place I was going to install was by splicing into the heater core lines. Boe said the temperatures from those lines would read a lot lower than the true water temp in the engine. If you don't care, then you will need to make a trip to Home Depot any ways.

You need a 1/2 inch female tee fitting, two 5/8 barbs with 1/2 inch male ends, and a 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch adapter. Then just splice into the heater core line, which is the rubber hose next to the master cylinder going through the fire wall. The other way will be cleaner, and will give better readings though.

Well, I could take a picture, but the problem is I don't have mine installed yet. I have been way too busy running back and forth to VA that I haven't had time to finish the install. I likely will not be able to finsih it until I get down to VA either. Sorry man.
