TPS wires

Do the TPS wires work by resistance or voltage. I kinked one of the wires and am going to try and solder it. Will this affect my readings at all?

A good solder job will fix any wire... you'd have to be really bad at soldering to notice a non-negligible difference in the resistance of the wire afterward...

That said, I have no idea what the TPS wire is.

^^^ Throttle position sensor. Solder is fine IMO. Use flux or you could get a crap solder joint and don't overheat the solder. The TPS is voltage. How do I know? Its a setting on the SAFC and ours is negative 5 volts, I think, its been awhile since I initially set mine up.
