Thinking of turboing my 03' Lancer
Yeah he would let me do that... but who would buy a stock evo intercooler and BOV? I see everyone that has an evo wanting to go bigger and better. I doubt I'll make much money off selling an intercooler. I only mentioned RRM's kit because that's the only thing i've been seeing on the site. LoL from all that I read... i don't see any other named on turbo kits... I know RIPP has a supercharger... but i think that would be beyond my price range... but i'll take a look and i'll get back at ya guys here... cuz.. be honest... from your lancer when u bought it... to how it is now after turboing it.... are you guys happy or are you guys regretful?

of course the cheapest way is to go custom like max17 or some of the other guys on here

Really? I don't see much of ppl on the for sale forum wtb an Evo 8 intercooler. Well then... i'll just have to hope he gets his stuff soon. He also tells me that the stock bov isn't real good cuz its plastic and it won't hold boost too well. But isn't the Evo stock ta 7psi of pressure? Wouldn't the RIPP turbo kit be set at that much psi as well?

Yeah, i've been looking at his thread for the past week or so and I wish i had the 1200 cuz damit! That's a great price for a pieced together kit... if anything... i'd just buy the crucial parts that i cna't pick up... like.. i've looked on Ebay and I've seen lots of turbos being sold there. My only problem is, i dont kno which would fit onto the car. I mean... i kno the turbo has to match up with the manifold right? but everything else, like an oil line kit, bov, intercooler, pipes...can pretty much be generic. It's just the turbo, the manifold, the O2 housing ect.. that has to match with the 03' Lancer right? Oh, and on that thread, he mentions all it needs is another fan... what does the extra fan for? Is it like a radiator fan?
I now see why you wanted to buy my RRM IC pipes. If you want to piece together your own kit:
Exhaust side
Buy the RRM up and down pipes or talk to some local shops and see if they can make you a turbo mani (any Mirage turbo manis out there that work?). If you go with the RRM pipes, you'll want an aftermarket header as well, and RRM is your only option with their up and down pipes. You could try asking www.turbokits.com to see if they could sell you the turbo manifold as well. Only issue is you would need a shop to make you a down pipe that fits.
Intake side
Get some universal mandrel bent pipes and make your own intake. You'll need a MAS adapter, which can be had for like $5 online if you search. I think Vibrant makes an adapter plate
Turbo side
Get some more universal mandrel bent pipes and make your own turbo to throttle body pipe. You could cut them yourself, then have a shop weld them, or just connect them with silicone connectors.
Fuel
Vortech 12:1 FMU, Walbro 255lph fuel pump.
Oil Lines
cheapturbolines.com sells kits, but it takes forever to get them apparantely. You could just go to RRM for them as well, but what fun is that. You'll probably want to get an oil pressure gauge as well.
Fans
Since our fans are already pretty close to the exhaust manifold to begin with, replacing the stock fans with "pusher" style fans and moving them in front of the radiator is a good deal. The RRM setup would actually melt the passenger side fan if it was kept there. I think it doesn't even fit with the fan still there. They run about $60 a piece on ebay.
Monitoring
EGT gauge is a good idea, and a boost gauge is a necessity. Wideband O2 is also a VERY good idea.
Turbo
Quick spool with a 300whp ceiling, but more like 200whp efficiently, go with a Garret T-25, you can find them used for pretty cheap. Decent spool with a 350whp ceiling and very efficient around 200-250whp, go with a Garrett T-28 or BigT-28 (comes with the RRM IC kit). And they are a little steeper in price. A T3/T4 hybrid is too much in my opinion for this engine unless you build the internals and are aiming for huge hp numbers.
The T-25 and T-28 will bolt up to the RRM pipes. If you want a T3/T4 with the RRM pipes, you'll need an adapter plate. If you have a shop custom build you a manifold, they can put any flange you want on the end of it depending on your turbo. The turbokits.com manifold will accept a T-25 and T-28 as well.
Spark Plugs
You'll need colder plugs. Search or check Maxum17ft's for sale thread for the NGK part number
Oil
Non synthetic and non durablend, which means regular dinosaur oil.
Hot climate, run 20w50
Colder climate, run 10w40
BOV
2G DSM will work (comes with RRM kit), or upgrade to a better one for more reliability, adjustability, better sound, etc.
K&N Filter
To go on the end of the intake pipe, probably run about $35 from ajusa.com.
Wastegate
Can be internal (attached to the turbo, it's a shiny bell housing looking thing) or external (Tial is a popular brand). It's debatable which one is better, but the RRM kit comes with an external waste gate made by Tial, but a lot of turbos you'll find for sale have internal. Only issue with this will be the piping because RRM's pipes come with a flange for the external wastegate.
Boost Controller
Not needed unless you want to boost above what the wastegate is set to. RRM IC kit comes at 7psi, RRM non-IC at 5psi. These levels are controlled by a spring in the wastegate. If you want higher boost, get a boost controller.
Intercooler
Needed if going to 7psi or higher. RRM's IC is pretty small, so getting an EVO IC is an upgrade. Only problem would be the pipes because the outlets are angled down on the EVO IC. Also be weary if you buy one off of ebay, a lot of those ICs SUCK. I know a guy selling an ECO one locally if you want me to talk to him for you.
I think that covers everything. As you can see there is a lot to piece together and it's likely you'll miss something. So if you're piecing it together, I would suggest having another car at your disposal for trips to Home Depot and the auto parts store. Otherwise, buy a pre-made kit.

Just remember you don't need the injectors and engine management for stage 1, which is 7psi. If you get bigger injectors and engine management, then you can up the boost to 9 or 10 "safely".
the upside ta having 2 push style radiator fans is that your stock fans are ONE piece, so if u dont wanna cut them in half, i suggest buying 2 pusher fans for the other side of the radiator, and dont even think about running on one fan for the summer months, im not explaining why.
MY kit is SOLD, i recieved the money order for 1250 2 days ago, I FEEL LIKE ****, im soooooooo pi$$ed i cant use it, my motor wont take it anymore, i have all metal shavings inside my exhaust ports and my dad and i decided a turbo DEFINATLY is not gonna help it. my head is bad, mainly the valve seats and valves themselves. now my plans are to do n/a mods, and once i got the cash im gonna rebuild to the MAX, then i'll go turbo, either that or just trade it in at the end of the summer on something a little quicker.
