Help: Engine overheating...

Can someone shed a light? I need to figure out why my engine is overheating. I recently removed my turbo kit because I have decided to sell it due to financial issues. Anyway, I don't know if I did something wrong with the install but now my engine is overheating. Could my radiator be messed up? Will I need to replace my radiator? What else should I check?

Were you having these problems while turboed? Is the coolant flowing back through the coolant overflow bottle? Could be a bunch of things, but hard to say since you dont give any real specifics. Could be as simple as your fan not working or as serious as a blown headgasket.

if your engine is overheating, it is very possible that you are low on coolant. my bet would be that it does have to do with your radiator. there are so many possibilities, since you have taken the turbo kit off, you should take it to a shop or the dealership. do you have an 02? did you have your fan controller replaced when mitsubishi did the recall for certain VIN?

Ok, this is basically stupidity. I forgot to plug in the fan controller so it was basically running without the fan. PROBLEM FIXED!

Ok, now something is different. When I'm at idle, it stays at 1300 rpms but when I turn on the A/C it goes down to 800 rpms. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Not really. The AC compressor is parasitic, meaning it saps power from the engine via a belt. When you start the compressor and draw off some power, you'll be likely to have a lower idle. It's not unusual to turn on the air and have a higher idle for a short time, but typically it'll remain the same or drop a tad.

on top of the throttle body is a rubber plug. take it off and turn the little screw adjuster with a flathead screwdriver.

Although I'm still confused why I have to adjust it. The position is the same as it was before. Thanks man, I'll check it out...

I know but I didn't have to adjust it when I installed the turbo. It's a coincidence that i have to adjust it back when I'm going back to N/A.

did you do the ECU reset? That might help. I wouldn't mess with that BISS (Basic Idle Set Screw) because you'll find yourself farking with it all the time to get it right.

Yah, I reset the ecu a couple of times by removing the + battery and waiting 20 seconds then letting it idle for 10minutes. Still the same 1300 rpms idle. Any other ideas?
