don't be a hater...
can't compare the two considering those types of rebuilds are much easier. besides the lancer engine has plenty of room for improvement as it is, no need to make things overly complicated.

well i know a guy who talked to RPW for quite some time and ended up purchasing the 6A12 for his '03 lancer....there is a big thread if you go back a bit in the "Canadian Forum"...according to RPW it's like thebest swapfor our cars really....as for trying to make our car AWD i wouldn't touch that with a 50' pole, but u can use the tranny that comes in that auction and just cap off the rear driveshaft (VW's do it all the time when they take Audi motors)...i say go for it, and considereing what u get i say that's CHEAP!! spend a bit and do some engine work while it's on a bench and upgrade the turbos = tons o power

^ I'm pretty sure that thread was deleated a long time ago because he never actually did the swap and yet claimed to, aswell he would pretend to be other members all the time, he had pictures of other peoples car and claimed that they were his.

Could be wrong though, could be another person who did this.

I would figure this is your better swap but that's me

http://motors.search.ebay.com/?from=R40&satitle=4g93t

4G93 DOHC 16 valve turbo - rated 160kw factory (Even harder to find)

160kw=214.5635hp

Then upgrade the turbo, etc. and you are doing better than slappin on a turbo kit.

Now that sounds like a much better swap, but then again a v6 is just so damn different. I dont know. I think it would be a bytch tho.

ya u always confuse the guy who was trying to be someone else and the guy who was doing this swap. the guy trying to be someonne else was using the other guy's car. and spool never claimed to have DONE the swap, but he did order the motor from RPW and it arrived here in Canada (i went and saw it when it arrived) but he sold the engine to someone then later sold his car

a LEGIT 4G93T would face the same way as our motor, T meaning Tranverse, same with the 4G63, evo's 1-4 all had a 4G63T in them that faces the same way as ours, all these guy's on Ebay that are adding a T behind the engine code are usually full of @#$t or just don't know any better, I've went through evey engine on there tons of times and out of the 500 engines I've checked out that were supposed to be transverse, or T, I have only found 2 ACTUAL 4G63T's, and have yet to see a legit 4G93T, which is probably why they say it's so rare!!

don't you mean evo's 4 and up? has the same orientation as we do?
1-3 all had dsm orientation...
I always thought T stood for turbo...
as in 4g63 = none turbo 4g63t = turbo.... ?

4g63 more power...more parts...more people know what theyre doing... and thats gonna make our cars that already have ****ty weight distribution even worse... i think ya should skip the idea man...sounds like a great idea...but like some1 else said...if you rebuild it, and can do of the work on ur own then go for it...but to have a shop do everything...it might be worth just buying an evo..probably cost you less, considering all the repairs in ur future..
