I will tell you to run a search next time. We already have about 40,000 duplicate threads which make it harder for people to find the information they're looking for when they take the time to look themselves. 8-9 psi safely. Brittle ring lands and fragile connecting rods are major the limiting factors.

Depends on whether you have automatic or manual also. I think automatics only can handle 6 PSI while manuals roughly 8.

Just do a search for turbo and you will see way more info than you would ever want to.

Also make sure that the turbo will work on your car....don't go trying to install big 16g killer....man just stay with a t25/28

It isn't a must, but I think it will help a lot as far as performance to have wider exhaust piping too.

Speculation based on (if I remember correctly) other Mitsubishi trannies. I believe a Mirage was used as a basis for comparison. We have the same trannies (the F5M42).

but psi is different from horsepower ratings, the mirage motor i am sure would have different hp rating at 6psi then the lancer would.

yes the mirage would have less TORQUE at 6 psi than the lancer. which means the lancer auto tranny is already taking more torque stock than on a mirage motor stock.

(because torque is the issue here not really HP...ok Hobie?)

and with 6 psi of boost it would be even more than the mirage at 6 psi of boost....which means the auto tranny on a lancer would break at a lower psi than the auto tranny on a mirage...

sooooooo if the mirage can only take 6 psi than the lancer should defiantly not take more then 6 psi cuz your already pushing it.

i think that makes sense.....??

The same things you'd need with any other turbo setup.

You'll probably need a new clutch sooner than later.

Andrew, for the record clutches are usually rated by torque handling, not HP. Turning force is what really causes wear and slipping on a clutch (or torque converter for that matter).
