Same BLOCK, not the same head. The intake goes to the head. The header comes out of the block.

I don't think so. The Caliber Air filter sits further away from thr block than the lancer's does. The tubing on the Lancer also has a much steeper vertical slope than I see possible for the Lancer.

I do have the Caliber one installed on my cali, though.i may try it.

If it does work, I would suggest even buying the Part for your lancers. It improved the way my caliber sounded and picked up immensely.

Go to the autoparts store and take your air filter inside with you. Compare it with K&N's until you find the right one. It might even be the same one that previous lancers use. Also, K&N's site already shows an oil filter for an 08 Lancer, so I'm sure they'll have an air filter listing up soon, too.

Both. Caliber uses the world engine. Basically, three manufacturers threw all their engineers into a room to design a basic engine layout, then after that each manufacturer makes their own tweaks, and finally they all share the same production facilities.

That is a negative. The Caliber's intake on the throttle body is way down on the bottom of the engine, deep beneath the coolamt hoses. the lancer's is right up top, with the intake pipe about a foot and a half long. the calibers is about 2.5 feet long.

like i have said before, though. i guarantee there is an intake that will fit on the market somewhere right now. this guy has the right idea with the comparison.

Exhaust manifold or header comes out of the head also. The Head has both intake and exhaust valves. On The 08's transverse engine the intake manifold is on the front and the exhaust manifold is on the rear of the head. There is no guarantee that the mopar header would work. The K & N intake for the caliber is close, but I don't think it would work without modification. You would be better off using an intake and header that is designed for the car.

My bad. But the point is that the Lancer and the Caliber DO NOT share the same head... the share the same block only.

We just need someone to do this. K&N lets you search by filter size. If I get time one day, I'll try and pull mine, but I don't plan on that happening anytime soon...

About every single Mitsubishi for the last 10 years has used the same K&N air filter. Could work for the 08 too.

Im going to try and go to Auto Zone and Advanced Auto Parts on Monday or Tuesday and give it a shot and see what happens.
