Nitrous?

Would it be worth putting nitrous into our 08 lancers, with a small shot. im looking to see if it would be worth it or not. I can get one with 10lb bottle for around $400 plus shipping of course., including everything needed.

get a wet system too. As far as tuning you have stock ecu so that really isnt possible unless you star messing with fuel pressure but you should just be able to plug and play with a smaller shot, i ve done many systems so far without problems

You should be able to spray a 50 shot wet without any problems. If you were to move up to a 75 shot you would need to start messing with the spark timing.

I'm not being negative, but I'm just going to say this:

On the 02-07 4G94 motor, even a small shot of nitrous was enough to grenade the motor.

You will be the first person on EvoM to run nitrous on the 4B11 motor. You WILL be the gineau pig. It may work fine (the 4B11 is rumored to be a much better and stouter motor, but those ARE just rumors).

Good luck and let us know if you do!

At the same time, the 4G69 is known to be able to handle, when properly tuned, a 100 wetshot without issue. It's gonna be a total crapshoot to figure out how much the 4B11 can handle.

Exactly. It'd be nice if the 4B11 could take nitrous. More options for the drag strip lovers.

after much research i still have yet to see anyone attempt this on a 4b11 lancer

i have a wet system on the way with a 35hp jet , 50 hp jet and 75 hp jet

figured the lancer world would like to know what comes of this

once its here and after install we will be doing a 35 hp test run

then heading to the track to test the 1/4 with either a 50 or 75 shot based off of testing , and after that will be going to the dyno once again either the 50 or 75 shot . what we are looking for is how much it will increase the 1/4 times based off of what i have currently run , and how much increase in hp does a 50 or 75 hp shot really give you on the dyno . we will be using the same dyno as the first run without the nitrous , and will also do some runs that day without and with spray to see the real numbers

the system im using is the ny-trex triple threat wet system from DEI

current mods on my lancer is a takeda intake , rrm timing , rrm crank pulley , had the rrm piggy ecu but it fried on me , and a custom 2.5 inch exhaust using all magnaflow parts . went to a 2.5 inch for either going boost or nitrous , but chose the nitrous route

based on those mods the fasted 1/4 i could pull off was a 16 flat and the dyno produced 140/140 hp/tq

will post up install pics and results as they come

nitrous system is installed , went to the track today to test it out and see what the lancer could take . was a cold day so was hard to figure the launch the first few runs , also the first time running nitrous took a bit to figure it out with the car .

did one run with a 35 shot to test it , then switched to a 50 shot for the rest of the day . had some issues keeping the bottle warm and in the correct psi range to spray because of the cold weather . by the time i got it all figured out i only did a 15.1 after that the tank was getting pretty low . the bottle was never in the correct psi range , had it been i would have been in the 14's , going back in a couple weeks to get some more runs in before the season ends. best rt was a .04

got in 7 passes , 1 with a 35 shot the rest were 50 shots , all runs were on spray . no issues at all with the motor , everything is running perfect

will have some videos soon for those with lancers that have thought about going this route

I just saw your posts over at 9glancers, good job with this. I've always wanted to throw a small nitrous set up in my 2010 gts. No more excuses now, thanks for the r and d.

someone had to do the r&d eventually so i just went for it , what ever happens happens , if you do decide to spray just be smart and know your limits , stay on top of your oil , plugs , monitor everything after each run

we checked everything after each run , monitored everything all day , 7 runs on nitrous and no issues , car is still in perfect working order

for anyone wanting to do this with a wet system you will need new fuel lines , the stock lines have a plastic casing inside them so they will need to be replaced as they wont go over the fittings , i tried to make it work and got a huge fuel leak and ended up just replacing the lines
