Mini Battery voltage??

Well since there is no "Interior/Exterior/Electrical" in the Lancer forums, I decided to post here

Just installed my Oddssey 680MJT Mini Battery and was curious what other lancer's (or evo's) voltage was while driving around?

Mine is about 14v when I start up and then with some spirited driving bounces around 13.5 or so... what are you guys running?

Sounds about right, but I still have the OE batt and no voltage meter...

Yeah, that's about right for a car. Is this different from the voltage you had with a big battery?

um the battery voltage is 12V capacity. When you start your car up the reason you get 13.5//14v is because of your alternator. And it fluxes because of different RPMs produce different voltages//strain on the alternator. Hope that answers your question

I think that the bigger battery put out more, i'm thinking around 14.7, but I really can't verify that it just seemed a bit lower with this battery and wanted to make sure that the alternator and the battery were working properly

Go to autozone. Free alternator test.

Edit: but that voltage does sound perfectly fine.

for as many times I have been up to autozone to recharge and test the alternator/battery, I should have just bought the testing/charging machine

As stated, the battery isn't what's putting out the amps you see on your voltage gauge. That's all alternator. The battery is used to start the car. Nothing more. That's why race teams sometimes start the car and then pull the battery out.
