RRM Exhaust question

I just installed the Exhaust, and i have to admit, it sounds great. BUT, i noticed a little problem and i'm wondering if anyone else noticed it.

The exhaust has that deep tone and i'd say it's pretty loud during most of day time.

BUT:
After leaving it in the parking lot for a while at night, or even starting it in the morning, i notice that it's a lot more quiet, i'd have to say some times it sounds stock.

It DOES sound the same when you start the car, but rev-ing it or just driving it for the first few minutes, i hear most the sound coming from the engine, not so much from the exhaust. But after driving it on the road for about 5-10 minutes, the sound goes back to normal (coming from the exhaust).

Is this because the engine's not warmed up? or is it because the exhaust is still cold that it doesn't generate the same sound. or does it have anything to do with heat at all.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can help me out here.

Thanks

Its very possible, heat has great effects on performance and efficency.

But i've seen many older cars (Civic eg, Accura Integra, Honda Acord etc...) that dont have this problem. No matter where or when they start their car, whether if it's freezing out door or blazing hot, there isn't any dramatic changes to how their car sounds.

Is there anything different with newer model cars they cause this problem?

Is there anything i can do to solve it?

Might be the muffler type. RRM used a Magnaflow (IIRC), which isn't known to be one of the louder mufflers. Might want up get something louder once they come out. I know HKS, GReddy and Tanabe are all working on exhausts for the 2008...

well i'm satisfied with how loud it is, but just keeping that level of loudness is what i'm concerned about. Like i said, during most of the day time it sounds great, just starting my car after being idled for a while, it's a bit dissapointing. if anyone's having the same problem, let me know if theres something i can do to fix it.

I think he has a winner on that stmt. I had a DynoMax muff on my first car and after longer trips it got louder. Same now with the Greddy Evo II muff on my Lancer. I think it has to do with the "packing" they use within the units themselves...but what do I know.

I can tell the difference in my car's tones simply in different weather conditions. And yes, when mine's warming up, it doesn't have the same rumble as when it's been drivin a few minutes

Mine isn't RRM, but is a custom Magnaflow with a MF tip. I have noticed variations in sound, but mostly when it's colder out it's a lot louder! I can't tell too much difference after it's been warmed up or anything else you have described

If you want a deep sound go with a flowmaster. I have a flowmaster muffler on my lancer. Has a nice deep sound.

Hey Jakermeister,
which flowmaster did you put on your 2008 lancer? did you have it welded or what?
