Exclamation Could someone look at my spark plugs/boots...

I pulled my plugs the other day while checking for a vacuum leak and i took some pics. Not to sure if there supposed to look this way or not...
thanks!

I Dunno the right numbering of the cylinders but for this thread i'm labeling them looking at the car from the front. From the passenger side(timing belt) to the drivers side(intake side)

From left to right(Cylinder 1, 2, 3)

(Cylinder 2, 3, 4)

Spark Plug Boot left to right (Cylinder 1, 2)

(Cylinder 3, 4)

OK, 2 brown and 2 black worries me a little... I don't see anything on the plugs, but the boots make me wonder...

The 2 black ones are your coil pack wires. The 2 brown ones are your spark plug wires. Replace the plugs and replace the wires.

I looked around at the auto shops down here but no one carries the wires and boots. I need the spark plug wires and four spark plug boots(from stealership) correct?

i have the old wires off my car... they are relatively new--in decent shape and they didn't even need to be replaced when i replaced them. i was in the "throw money at the problem! (see my fuel injector thread from last week, hehe) that will fix it!" frame of mind.

shoot me a PM. i KNEW i kept the wires for a good reason.

for the plugs pick up some NGK v-powers. great plugs for our cars.

My guess is that you have 2 arc'ed plugs and wires. Is your car misfiring? Tell Tell signs of arc'ed wires is white'ish line going up the length of the plug wire and corresponding burn lines on the porcelin(sp) part of the spark plug. If you have either of those than they are shot. The brown does indicate some level of burning occuring which shouldn't be happening either. Start by changing your plugs and wires. If the problem persists get new coil packs.

magnacor makes plug wires as well and the boots for the coil packs are like 30 bucks from the stealership for a pair.

Got new plug wires in (Thanks Atilla!) and changed the plugs to NGK V-Powers set at 0.044. Idle is a LOT better now. Only got one more problem which happens when the AC is on. My car idles fine then all of a sudden it will start bogging and studders hard. The AFRs richen up a bit then it idles fine after that. Help please!

yeah coils are going. Get a set from a Junk yard. I believe Galant and Eclipse 4g64 coils are the same.

I have the same problem. When I floor it, it sputters and vibrates at higher RPM's. So I should change my coils? Could it be from improperly torqued spark plugs?
