I didnt know where to post this so I'll just post it here, and if the admins move it then they do. Anyway, I've been to alot of websites forums and such, and figured out that most are saying there isnt a high enough demand for the 08 lancer to supply parts. So from my calculations we need to go to these manufacturers websites, find their contact numbers, and post multiple threads on there forums. Call them constantly and ask and ask and ask about performance parts for our cars. Maybe they will break down and finally start putting some in development. I dont think sitting around on one forum talking about our cars is gonna do it. Because the last model Lancer didnt get much support at all if you ask me.

 

Your post sets a tone that suggests "companies" aren't doing their part for our car. They are.

I personally have a buddy of mine who has proto-type Injen cold air/exhaust parts that aren't available YET.
Somebody from Lancertuners says that AEM has already begun R & D and the only thing lagging is the CARB approval of the performance parts.
Megan Racing and API are also in the market for getting our lancer test-fitted for parts THEY'D like to develope.

Stuff is in the works bro. Be patient.

It's not that people don't 'care' about our car. Stuff takes awhile to come out. Some guys can't commit to lending their daily drivers to companies for long periods of time, CARB approval bas been known to be a biatch to process.

what type of parts specifically were you talking about or hoping for?

 

ahhh i dont think i can wait any longer.. i need something...something more... other than RRM's products.. how did they get their stuff out so fast and the big companies with more resources are so slow about it?? eeeeekk i just had to rant.. sorry.

 

I am talking about being able to mod it as much as a honda can be modded haha. Its rediculous how many mods there are for freakin hondas. I am not making a neg tone towards larger companies than RRM... I am just stating that everyone with a 08 lancer is on this forum waiting for parts to just come out. I think that if everyone kept bugging the companies rather than sitting around hoping for a miracle then something might happen.

 

but you have to understand that mitsu as far as i realize is not so popular in the tuning market.... at the same time lets say we do call and email the hell out of the companies.. would you rather wait and get a quality made product or buy a product they barely r&D but still put the product out because people were complaining??? think about it

 

You can't bully a company into making parts, if only 100 people email them/raise the subject in their forums, they're not going to waste their time. An example of this is the old lancer. It took something like 4 years for a company to make struts and when they did, they only made one kind, their crappiest kind. The only way a company will make parts is if they feel they have a big enough market to warrant some R and D. Harassing a company won't do anything but get you a restraining order.

 

And to further make this point, that company makes the stock struts for the car. So they already knew everything they needed to know, long before the car even came out. But they waited 5 years to release aftermarket struts, which suck.

RRM works on Lancers. Occasion work on Suzuki and Hyundai, but they're generally working on Lancers 24-7. That's how. Because they embrace the Lancer community and work with us. Big companies don't give a damn about Lancers. GReddy can make $1250 on an Evo intercooler (for example). And sell thousands of those. If they make parts for the Lancer, they might sell a couple hundred, making a couple hundred bucks each. See the problem here?

If you want the support given to a popular car, buy a popular car. If you want to buy an unpopular/niche car and FORCE it to become popular . . . well . . . you're an idiot. IMHO.
