Got a CE light?! Post here!

Im wondering how many lancer owners have a CE light on and how many know why it's on!? If you have a CE light or an oil light, ABS light or any other dash light on for some reason, post and explain!

I think, in some cases, this could be helpfull for a lot of people if we posted:

1) what light is on
2) What happened? Why is it on ? or what caused it to go on?
3) How long has it been on?
4) any cures for eliminating or making it go away? Either fixing it properly or even just unplugging the bulb behind the dash!

Post your stories here!

1) CE light
2) After the RRM 16G turbo install, i had to delete both cats (the one on the header and the one on the downpipe). Im assuming my CE light is associated with this, since i can reset the ECU and the light will go away but then come on shortly after the O2 sensors warm up and start working. (that's what im assuming is happening) lol. Or it could be i have the CE eliminator on the wrong part of the new downpipe?! Who knows. It's deff. Cat related though.
Any other turbo guys have this problem? I want to get a 3 way cat installed soon when i do the exhaust to hopefully eliminite this CE light.
3) been like this since i turboed at the end of...October 2007.
4) Cures: reset ECU or get a cat installed!

I too have my check engine light on, I know it is due to my headers, because I had my exhaust for a long time, and the CEL never came on. Finally added the headers, and BAM! light comes on, so yeah, as for "cures" I have seen a forum on here dedicated to fixing the problem, but it seemed to have some negatives to it, because something might get burned, so I never tried it

You can always just buy the 10$ fix from RRM or another vendor.

I've always been told that the RRM CEL eliminator is kind of "chance", in other words, for some it'll work, for others, well ur kind of sol. lol

The RRM CEL eliminator just needs to be placed in the Second Cat or test pipe not in the headers as most people have made that mistake and placed it in the headers.

Mine is on/off now... 1 for the warm up cat and the second for a misfire in cylinder 2... I had the misfire a few months ago and changed the spark plug wires/boots then it went away. Now it's back so I'm changing the plugs tomorrow.... Hopefully I'll get a header soon and the RRM cel fix...

I have the CE eliminator, it;s placed on the D/P and not the header. That would be a silly mistake

and as someone else posted, it's pretty much a 50/50 chance of working for you. Everyone ive talked to that has one, says the same thing.

It's on the downpipe, since when is there a bung on the stock DP?

There's one on the stock exhaust manifold and another on the stock cat.

Had CEL from Header. Got RRM CEL Eliminator. Didnt work. Dang it. Got cheapo Mustang CEL Eliminator. Requires splicing of wires. Works. I use both now just to make sure.

I had a CEL from my Non IC kit as well but that was just a cylinder misfire due to crappy plugs. Tune up and no problems.
