well i was told my cat converter was out and was causing the CEL
so i took off the exhaust mani and saw that it looks clogged up.
But im kinda low on money right now and was wondering if i could just get a used mani(a friend has one for free)
and gut out the converter and just use the RRM CEL eliminator to make it like a header.

so what do u guys think?

Clogged? Would air from an air compressor help it?

Wish you luck cuz I still have that phantom CEL every once in a while. Right now, no CEL...but I did get a new battery today and some said that might help with some of those odd errors/CELs.

Keep us/me updated!

what would a battery have to do with it?
because right im running on 14.7 volts (radar volt meter)
but sometimes i leave the radio on to long when im working on it and kills the battery
But im going to try to reset it and see what happens.
before i used to reset it and would come back a couple weeks later , now it comes back on an hour later

if you're going to end up taking off the header just get an aftermarket one, swapping it for a stock one is going to be a pain in the ***. alternatively if you can get your 2nd O2 sensor out just do the non-fouler trick and that will shut the ECU up.

Good question...I'd have no clue. But modern-day cars require power and any disruption in power could cause issues. The battery I just replaced was the stock battery from Sept. '03! I've ran a 1600w system since late '04 and never had a problem. But this winter the car has had a little more difficulty starting, and I thought it'd be better to replace it now than have the wife mad at me that her car won't start. Yes, I said her car! LOL

Good luck!

yea but the problem is that im kind of low on cash at the moment ,
but swapping the header isnt a problem .
and if i just do the fouler trick on the 2nd o2 its just going to be the same with the MPH and power lose ,just no more CEL

nope, the non-fouler trick shuts the ECU up and returns the car to normal.

all you need to do is make sure the 2nd sensor gets a different reading than the first one. in my case i rounded off the O2 sensor so i spliced a device made of a capacitor and two resistors into the wiring harness of the 2nd O2 sensor and accomplished the same end result.

not sure... i rounded mine off trying to get it out, haha!

the best way to do it is to get in a pit under the car... this makes things so much easier.

if you can't get it look up MIL/CEL eliminators, some are legit and work--the place where i got mine went under so i can't help you with that one. they even color coded the wires to the wiring harness!

im going to have no choice so im probably just going to get the non-foulers and have them set for a muffler shop to do it.
Dont want to round mine off.

yeah i did a full exhaust on mine left the stock cat (undercar 2nd cat) and bought a CEl from RRM cause i was getting a code from my 2nd O2 sensor as well... and the car ripened up a bit... but good luck on your install.... and hope everything works out on the better half for you i know messing with exhaust s a pain and sometimes a nightmare.... BEST OF LUCK
