RRM short ram air kit(filter fell off)

I am not here to complain about the kit. I just wanted to get some advice on what to do.
I was washing my car today and I opened the hood to clean the engine off and to my surprise the filter had fallen off the intake. I am not sure how long this has been like this.. But our Gas milage has been down lately and you can see that honeycomb grid in there is dirty. I washed the car about 2 weeks ago and I looked at the engine then and it was still on there.
My question is , should I take off the sensor and spray some kind of cleaner on it? I am going to clean the filter because it is filthy. Not sure what else to look for with a filter not being on the car for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, there's specific MAF sensor spray cleaner you can get...use that and clamp it on there good. If it's a worm clamp and you're able to tighten it with a wrench and not a screwdriver, please do it.

this stuff is what I use and works great and dries very quickly. Easy to use, spray on, let sit for a minute or 2 and that is all you need to do.

Thanks, it seems like no matter how tight I get it, I can pull it off if I tried, maybe I will rough up the outer edge of the aluminum on the Ram so it has more to grip on to. Its perfectly smooth right now which doesn't help

Cool, thanks, I am assuming I would be able to get that at an Auto parts store? And not only on Amazon. I guess I will have to go look. Thanks for your help

You could always try spraying some hairspray onto the rubber part of the filter to make it seal better.

Thats not a bad idea. The thing I worry about with that is after re oiling the filter there is always some residual on the rubber area of the filter and I am not sure if the hairspray would be enough to counteract the oiliness. I can try it though

Yep! I was going to say the same thing! DIY trick well-known for use on couplers on I/C piping...
