A Question to RRM/WORKS and other Lancer vendors.

I have been hunting all over the internet since the day I got my 08 lancer to see if there has been any type of talk about ECU flashing and or possibly CVT flashing as well to change the fixed "gear" times that we have in place. So far, I have see nothing really aside from that slight tease I read about ECUtek saying they would be working on our ECU.

My question to you vendors is this...What do you guys have planned if not already in the works concerning our ECUs? I know RRM has the piggy but I am looking for something more along the lines of a genuine flash...I am just very curious as to what you guys think may or may not be possible..

Cheers.

The WORKS Brain Flash for the '08 Lancer has been under development. Unfortunately, it is a rather long process. Even once inside the ECU, there's searching, isolating and manipulating the data not just on one chassis, but multiple samples in order to provide good, useful results. Once progress is nearing completion, you'll be hearing more from us about the Brain Flash

Tweaking the CVT software is a possibility, but WORKS is concentrating on the ECU at this point. Once the Brain Flash is sorted out for the Lancer and EVO X, we'll look into CVT/SST enhancements further.

There have been a few groups trying to work it out in Japan, unfortunately, the CVTs logics / software is not easy to modify. I am traveling to Japan after the local car show stuff here is over to look into some Lancer projects with a few tuner heads.

let ya know if i find anything meaningful about their North American projects

Just be patient, everyone is hard at work on this. Remember these cars are still very new.

Bleh I just want to see how much i can do to my 08 seeing as I dont play anything on it...and my parents pay insurance. So basically i am trying to save up maybe a grand or 3 lol and dumping it into my car...so far nothing seems really worth it...

EDIT:
Also having a hard time choosing where to start...

lol yeah if we got the attention that the evo's got, we'd be over 300 whp by now lol. If people have already gotten some Evo X's over 400 whp in a month's time, imagine what they could have done to our car in a years time (I know it would be expensive tho since the evo starts off with a good baseline and we need to do alot more work just to catch up)

But not many people buy sub $20k cars (before adding extra options) for racing; except for the scion's, honda's, srt-4, mazda, vw's, and hyundai's

Well, I am very satisfied that they are willing to look into reflashing the CVT. That is the only weakness on my car so far. Even the sport program is a joke. I didn't really buy the car just for performance, but I did gamble thinking that the huge aftermarket would be all over it, tweaking the programs. I like WORKS quality, happy to see them getting involved in N/A lancers as well.
