exhaust?????

I got a friend that lives down the street that owns an EVO, now my question is will a stock EVO exhaust fit on a US Lancer. I'm only concitering this because i haven't got the money to grab a new one. I also figured that the stock EVO is gotta be less restrictive than ours

Not without some major fitment problems, it won't. The Evo undercarriage is much different than the Lancer, as you can see in pictures of various catback setups of the two(Evo is a lot straighter through). I guess you could always try, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Oh, does anyone think it would be cheaper, i'm sure it would be, just to cut the pipe off of the exhaust and and take it in to get 2.5" pipeing or should i just save up for my magnaflow setup

It will certainly be cheaper to cut the muffler off and get custom piping and weld the muffler back on, but do you really wanna do a hack job like that? You'll have to consider the interior piping size of the stock muffler and what not.

I am thinking about doing a custom cat-back, since my dad recently learned how to weld and is making the exhaust for our mustang project, but I do think that custom piping should be matched to a muffler, otherwise, the weak link where it narrows down will kill any airflow you free up elsewhere. I was going to do 2" piping, but if I decide not to go custom, anyone know of a 2" piping catback out there?

No 2" catbacks that I'm aware of. Closest I've seen is the 2.25" Thermal catback.
