so the tune sounds like the best option. Amby, do you think that I will at least be able to feel some gains? I would rather just do a tune then sit on it until I sell it for my WRX

Whether you'll be able to feel the gain is debatable, some people think they can feel a gain with an intake or a muffler but logically the car isn't any faster. A tune could do a lot of good in terms of fuel economy (by leaning out the mixture you'll effectively be using less gas), throttle response and potentially power.

I'll look into getting a quote and getting it done this week.. I'll post back results as well as opinion. I figure its a better $300 than headers with no tune.

lol there are no gains with a intake and a muffler. you need the whole exhaust system, and it all depends on what intake/filter you have also.

well I stayed away from a header due to rice noise. I have a K&N Tornado short ram and a Greddy Evo 2 exhaust. If that helps

Where are the base numbers? Unless you have a base value, those numbers are completely arbitrary.

That's Import Tuner, they're hardly a trustworthy source since *surprise surprise* whenever they test a product from a sponsor, it works wonderfully.

But what i don't understand amby is when you had mostly everything aftermarket on your car, the dyno wanted you to see otherwise. Low numbers and it seem like you lost hp. Was theres something wrong with your set-up that we don't know?

My setup was completely normal, it was all the bolt-ons that people (including vendors) recommend and wasn't by any means hardcore. The car just doesn`t respond to bolt-ons.

Yea.. dont get me wrong. The lancer is a fun car to drive and with gas prices right now you should love it, but its pretty much one of those cars for getting you from point a to point b. I love mines but i just need more power and this isnt cutting it
