do evo catbacks work with oz?

i was just curious if a evo catback exhaust from a 05 would work on a 03 oz lancer? i couldnt find any thing that said they were different. so any help is appreciated. the only thing i thought might be a problem is that its 3in piping? would my lancer run like **** with this large of an exhaust??? i had a crx with 2.5in and not only did it sound crappy, but it ran worse, and back fired louder than hell every shift. thanks

No, they are completely different cars and as such, the exhaust systems are completely different.

The flow of the piping is different. 3" is too big unless you're boosted. Check ebay for a catback for your car. They aren't that expensive or you could go custom.

alright thats what i thought. i just saw a evo catback on ebay for almost nothing so i figured ide look around to make sure it was the same/different first. i was thinking about going custom, i did that with my crx and it was alot cheaper than buying one. But the guy did a crappy looking job, and sat really low, so it got all scratched up pretty fast, and than started leaking. i was disappointed.

oh thunderoz did you get that 16g turbo set up from aznflip?

N1 apexi knock-off for an exhaust is probably the best deal for your money. You will feel a little pull in second to third. I have 2.5 inch exhaust for my turbo and it works great. If you go custom piping it depends on how cheaply made the pipe is made and it can make it sound deep or real bee sounding.

that is the exhaust sound with the windows up. It is a knock-off N1 apexi catback exhaust from ebay.

---Edit---

FYI: i was not hitting boost.

My exhaust doesn't hang low like that. It fits perfectly and when you install it you just gotta kinda move the axle-back around to fit the hole the way you like it.

But it does fit really nice and snug right?
How long did it take you to install? Did you do it alone? And about how long did it take?
Sorry for all the questions. lol
