Cleaning RRM Filter

i've had my V2 RRM SRI for like 8 months now, and the red filter is brown. i do a lot of driving on the highway and where i live there's a lot of construction going on.

How exactly do i clean the filter? do i rinse it with water? i see some companies selling oil, whats that for/

I use the K&N recharger kit. Take a soft bristled brush. Spray the cleaner on it rub it in, rinse it off, let it dry. LIGHTLY oil it (the stuff that makes it red) if you put too much it will throw off the MAF sensor. Let it dry a while after you oil it too. Pretty simple make sure you tighten it back up

round 2 hours letting it air dry... if you have some way to speed up the process of drying. Thats the only thing that takes long

I used a blow dryer to make the drying portion go quicker!

Don't use a blow dryer unless it has a cool function. The heat will shrink the cotton gauze.

You can buy the Recharge kit at the local Autozone or Advance auto Parts, and it cost around $15.00 or you can just buy a new filter from RRM for about $45. I recommend the cleaning kit. I have used it before on K&N filters, and it does work fine. Just do like jwhat89 said; don't over oil the filter! Good luck,
