Question K&N/Works/HKS drop in filter owners

do you have any problems with the intake box? i put my drop in yesterday, and it just seems like it's a little loose. the top clips aren't loose and went in without a problem. i heard there were some clips on the bottom. i tried to align them, but it's kind of hard to see once you put that filter in. anyone have any problems with this?

I had the K&N drop in filter and did not like the fit of it either. I seemed like there was a gap between the spacer, and the clips. Never really seemed sealed! Not sure what others think, but that is a big reason why I went back to the SRI!

For our dyno day, the WORKs drop in provided to us fit the EVO X and the Lancer perfectly, we did multiple installs during the dyno event for stable consistance in the numbers vs. other intake options.

Yep, it fits totally fine. Solid construction, perfect fitment, and great quality - totally worth the $$ over K&N IMO

I've had k&n filter for about 4000miles, and never had problem. Looks like it fits perfect.

I think my problem was that I am short on patience, and I could not get the bottom clasp to seal correctly. Must be do to my big a$$ head and not being able to look under there to line things up. I am sure it is a good product though. I stuck with K&N and just went with the cone filter since I already had the SRI bracket from RRM

I removed the box, installed the Works drop in, then re-installed the box. Kind of a moot point, but was easier for me. Initially, I could not get the box to close at the bottom; hence removing it.

just picked up the k&n drop in - it definitely takes a bit of patience! But, its worth it in the end. I couldn't see dropping $250-$350 on an intake.... yet. Right now this is my family car. Give it a couple years and then the modding will begin!

Seems like everybody had hard time to install it. All I did was just to open the clips, widen the box, and put the filter in. I didn't do anything with bottom part. I've done this several time to show off to my friends about my filter.

Just open it enough for you to slipped the drop in. I kinda opened it to wide when I installed my green filter and accidentally the bottom part got loose but I was able to put back immediately.
