RPW 4-1 Header?

Is the RPW 4-1 header for Mirage can be used on 02 Lancer? So is that mean all 97-01 Mirage header can be used on 02 Lancer as well? Thanks!

i dont think it would fit...even if it did fit...i wouldnt take the chance... most custom fits or fitting of another car's part is very risky... unless ur getting some kind of warranty...thats a risk im not willing to take...

Someone on the boards i believe has the 4-1 RPW header and its fine, only problem is that it has to be welded to the downpipe, i dont like that, therefore i wont get it.

I do believe that RMR will be selling there header soon. But its only a rumor.

Rpw header

Only the 1.8L 4G93 header fits.

The header that the board member got is probably the cheaper Street style header. The header that requires no welding is more expensive and is called the race style header. If you want more details the website for one of the US distributors is www.apparts.netfirms.com

There is no need for modifying the Race style. It bolts right on. I am going to get one.

The race design header is a complete kit. The street design needs extra weld of pipe connecting to the cat converter.

The 1.8L header will not fit the lancer. I do believe mitsu produce its cyl head a bit taller than the 4g93.

I rather let the RPW guy explain in greater detail.

Bahamut

Bahamut I think Mitsiman has already said that the 1.8L headers fit the 2.0L I did not think that RPW had made a new one for the 2.0L yet but maybe they have. All I know for sure is that RPW does have a header for the Lancer.

The 2.0 block is slightly taller than the 1.8 litre mirage motor engine block.

We are now modifying our race deisgn extractors and lengthening them around 1/2" before they curve under the sump to clear the 2002 Lancer sump pan.

This will now mean that the RPW Race Design Extractors are no longer a mirage header but what we would call a late model 4G9 header which means it would suit all 4G92/93/94 engine blocks from 1997 up.

Since teh heads are all teh same etc these headers will provide teh same level of improvement on all cars relative to there cubic capacity of course.

Anyway this is a definite yes - RPW will have these available in around 3 weeks for sale for those who want them.

There will be no difference for teh mirage guy's they will bolt up exactly the same - the extra length will only help the torque some more.

if u slap on a turbo...

if u slap on a turbo, you won't need headers right? why not just wait for the turbo, or get one that'll work?

Talking Thank you!

Finally,

Headers available for our Lancers! Thanks to RPW! We'll be on the lookout for those...by the way, how much? I hope they are polished, not black coated. Also, hopefully they are mandrel bent and 2.25"-2.5" in diameter.

RPW Extractors

All of our extractors come with Mandrel bent piping with basic heat heat proof paint although to be honest that does eventually crack and peak off with heat.

They can be either ceramic coated or you can get some better heat proof paint if you wish. They are not stainless steel as these crack but are normal mild steel that does not rust (Big marketing ploy) and never crack.

They are fully mandrel bent with our 4-1 design, 32" long primary pipe lengths equal tuned length with 1 3/4" diameter individual pipes going into a 2 1/2" collector.

From there they are fitted up to a 2 1/2" diameter flex pipe - flanged fitted and will bolt straight up to the cat converter with no welding or mods needed.

There is provisions for two O2 sensors to suit both federal and california spec model vehicles.

These are specifically designed for the 4G92 / 93 / 94 engines and are proven to outperform 4-2-1 designs in both torque and horsepower.

But for pricing you need contact one of our dealers as we don't set the pricing in the USA.
