cyclone 2.0 engine
Just a note, the Cyclone engine is in fact EVO I-III. The name is refered to the special designed intake manifold to create better air-flow; thus the name "Cyclone"

2 notes:
First off, the cyclone intake is NOT from an EVO I-III. The cyclone intake is ONLY from the JDM Galant VR-4 89-93 (yes they were made in 89 in Japan and are considered the original DSM).
I have seen EVO engines and they have intakes not like any DSM or Galant. They look like a sheet metal intake, and have no stamp of any sort on them.
How do I know? I have a cyclone engine in my Galant VR-4.

Second, there is no way a cyclone engine or any DSM engine for that matter will work in a Lancer since it is on the wrong side of the car, and the motor mounts are in completly different location. The ONLY 4G63 turbo engine that has a chance would be from the EVO IV-VII.
In the DSM's and Galant and EVO I-III the engine is on the drivers side and the tranny is on the passenger side. On the EVO IV+ and eclipse and lancer etc it is opposite.

The link does explain a bit. All 5g Mirage and 6g Lancer cannot use any 4g63T, except from the E4 to 7.
If people are that die-hard on swap, they might as well look into the 4g64 from the 3g eclipse. You must use its tranny, despite having the same tranny code . . . the 4g9x has a starter on the engine unlike the 4g64.
One of our board member is doing it in the Ft Lauderdale area, but he's has a smaller engine bay than the lancer . . . I have not taken measurements on the size of the lancer's engine bay. Visually, it seems a tad bigger than the mirage, or Mitsu tricked my eyes by bringing the motor closer to the firewall or with a tad higher engine mounts.

The second note was covered in the FAQ that pjal linked. I put that together, you might wanna check that out and you might want to contribute some of your knowledge
In the FAQ I try to keep things in simple and easy to understand fashion so I would not throw someone off by technical terms...since I'm not a tech-wiz myself
bahamut: I was trying to do a section in 4G64; however, I don't think I have enough info (correct ones) yet to put together one. I will check on the Mirage board to find out more

Above is the link. The search function on our site is a bit picky at times.
Shmirage has changed his alias (not sure on email addy), and he hasn't been on the board for quite some time.
Also, Dude in a mirage may have a better progress report from SH since he's our super tech guru. Everyone goes to him.
Whenever I meet w/ my local lancer guys, I'll start the measurement process and post the results.

bahamut: Thanks
I was trying to look for that thread, however, it would take time to extract useful info from that gigantic post
I seldom post on the Mirage board now but I still check it out everyday.
cheers
