Heres the stats, a 7 heat range is perfect for a turbo lancer, an evo runs a 9 heat range, and the stock NA lancer runs a 5. Id say a 7 is a good compromise for low boost. 5s and 6s will cook your gaskets. Trust me on this. And Im not too sure what the gaps are supposed to be at. I think like .040 IIRC.

I know, they are confusing. Its all bassackwards. Youd think the higher the number, the hotter the plug would be lol. BTW, if your running a 5, Id reccomend getting a 7 or your going to find things will get VERY hot. I just helped a friend pick out new plugs cause he was cooking the shizz out of his gaskets and they were hard as a rock when he replaced them and just cracked all apart. And things coulda been alot worse if we hadnt caught it in time.

depends how much you're boosting. If you buy oem spark plugs which is reccomended, they come pre-gapped

This isnt an evo. This is a lancer, and oem plugs would be a 5 heat range which is waaaay hot for a turbo BASE MODEL LANCER.

Ok sweet. Now why the .030 for gap instead of the stock .040? Whats the benefit? I cant remember the difference between less of a gap and more of a gap.

Ya, i had it explained to me, the smaller gap will eliminate misfiring at higher rpms under boost. .040 is stock and .030 is great for turbo.

Yea when I had my plugs gapped at .040 I couldn't go over 4k without massive misfires.
