Evo 8-9 TB on 4g93 IM ?

I was at a friends shop today picking up my intake manifold he ported out (Runners and Tb side) and i asked him about throttle bodies since he had a couple Evo ones laying around and he told me he would be able to put the Evo TB on my car . I noticed the IAC valve is the same plug and Tps off the Lancer fits in the throttle body , only thing we noticed was that the throttle wire hooks up on the other side . He assured me that it can be done so im going to be putting the 4g93 manifold and this weekend getting the TB from him so we can put it on .

The question i had from you all is has anyone ever tried this ?

Not that Ive heard of, but Ive been researching this swap myself for a long time off the forum. You definitely should go ahead and try it and let us know how it works out.

Wouldnt be a point in that unless you were to make a custom manifold to accept the larger bore. The largest bore a g93 IM will accept is a 60mm. And you have to shave the opening on the IM to make it 60mm. And also wouldnt be a point unless you are forced induction. 60mm is a good opening size for NA on our cars. Hence why so many wanted to do the dsm tb swap, but I always have thought the evo swap would be cleaner. If you really want to do something different with it, buy a TB spacer for the evo to add to the TB.

How big can you bore the 4g93 manifold?

I got my 4g94 bored at the machine shop and I stopped at 60mm.
There are too many imperfections on the casting.

60mm is the largest Ive found that anyone has bored it out to. As far as I know, thats the limit.

Oh ok got you
What would the spacer do ? Just drop a little in the temp ?
He was also trying to get me to delete my Egr system . What do you think ?

Dont delete the egr unless your running the evo ecu. You would throw codes like crazy and theyve only developed the ability to do it through ecuflash with the evo ecu. Throttle body spacers only drop temp really if they are phenolic spacers. However, the ones im referring to just swirl the air around to create better velocity into the chamber and to help with the air fuel mix. I have friends that installed one on both an 08 tacoma sr5 and a 92 integra gsr and they both said to have made gains on the butt dyno not to mention the intense whistle now they have under the hood sounds pretty sweet. Either way, you can find them for around 55 bucks which IMO isnt a bad price and I intend to try it out in the future.

Whats the benefits ?
I didnt ask him to much since he had alot of work on his hands but was researching and it just lowers the temp on the Im ?

There is no emission testing here , i already am running Header/Downpipe/Test pipe/ Greddy catback and running Rich with black smoke at WOT with no problems

Yes it would lower the intake temps and also keep all the grime out of your intake tract so your engine wasnt burning oil, however, your car will run poorly without deleting it in your ecu. I forget where I read about it, but you cant just take it off and expect everything to be fine and dandy.
