Wrong section dude. I think that with quite a lot of money it can be done but why would you spend that much for a NA engine swap when it's cheaper to turbocharge your engine?

i guess if you want to put down a lot of power..in these lancers you'll probably never see one running more than 240whp. stock k20 are 197 at the crank. but boosted, ive seen those running easily 350 at the wheels.

a very expensive swap. imo sell your lancer and just buy one.

A k20a type R has 220 hp not 170 and and the type S k20a2 has 210 hp. And swapping any economic engine out for the k20 is in fact worth it

Money to horsepower ratio is not worth it at all. He can build a DOHC 4g64 with a fp green for less money.

Because a k20 engine is way more less hassle to turbo or supercharger the stock internals can handle forced induction easily and the stock hp off the engine is 220 so getting 80 hp off a turbo or supercharger would get u to 300 hp and tune it to actually have 300 whp. So fyi a k20 engine kit swap would be a good bang for the buck to swap into any fwd car that has a crappy economic engine that will hardly get see and have any love from aftermarket racing companys because they think it is a waste of money. So I am all for this idea I plan to do the same.

It costs roughly $10k to put one in a Honda properly. 10k+ the 4k your lancer is worth seems like an Evo VIII......

Isn't that an awd engine and if it is. Doing an awd drive train swap would make it way more money then getting a k20 type R engine kit for $5,000. Atleast if you get any fwd jdm engine you won't have to deal with the drive train hassle.

Ya but it wont be an evo thats the point.... why does everyone have to have an evo nowadays soon enough their wont be different type of tuners on the road and imagine only racing evos must be boring racing evo after evo

Oh and not to mention..... I only see they sell the 4g64 engine by it self for sale so it sounds like a hassle to find the tranny ecu all that compared to an k20 engine kit or any jdm engine kit that comes with the tranny ecu and everything for $2,000 more so in the long run buying an k20 engine kit or any jdm engine kit would be a better choice.
