AEM CAI Install Problem
AEM CAI Install Problem
I ran into a problem while installing my AEM CAI on my 2008 Lancer ES.
I cut 4 wires on the MAF sensor side and then sodered them with the provided wires:
20 Gauge TXL - Black
20 Gauge TXL - Red
20 Gauge TXL - Orange
20 Gauge TXL - Gray
I was supposed to soder the OEM wires with the AEM wires as follows:
OEM Wire----------------AEM Wire------------OEM Wire
Black/White--------------------Black---------------------Black/White
Blue-----------------------------Gray----------------------Blue
White----------------------------Red----------------------White
Brown/White-------------------Orange----------------Brown/White
Once this is done I then soder the AEM Wire to the other end of the OEM Wire in the correct order.
Instead I sodered the OEM Wires to the AEM Wires in a different way Like so:
OEM Wire-----------------AEM Wire----------------OEM Wire
Black/White--------------------Black---------------------Black/White
Blue-----------------------------Orange----------------------Blue
White----------------------------Red----------------------White
Brown/White-------------------Gray----------------Brown/White
My question:
Does the color of the wire matter? I see they are all just 20 Gauge TXL wires so shouldn't I still have a correct set up?
