timing belts!!!!

timing belts!!!!

i went 2 the mitsubishi dealer and they told me 2 replace all your belts including your timing belt its gonna be $400+ , i went 2 a local auto shop and they told me $140 i think thats a good deal!!!

Are you talking about the engine belts or the timing chain? Replacing the timing chain is big money and is fairly involved usually.

yea, but dont forget about the save 10% on the timing belt coupon LOL you should go to mitsu, buy whatever parts you need and get someone you trust thats local to replace them, def cheaper

It's a Timing BELT, no chain on the lancer. $140 bucks for the install or the parts. $140 is insanly low.

That sucks.......I thought only Honduhs came with timing belts.

Nah, my 1993 300zxtt had a belt also. Mucho buck$ to replace.

Most cars have belts, and some DOHC MOTORS have both, the belt to turn the main gear on the head and a chain to keep the 2 cams in sync.

YOu should try to do it yourself. Get some you know that knows how to do it and have them stand over your shoulder. It is easy to do on a single over head cam like our lancer have.

Word of advice... that job is a pain in the *** when the engine is in the car. Good luck for $140 i'd have them do it... just ensure they time it right. imp:
